I've improved the Main Scale a bit

Hey fellas!

Just a very minor update this time around. I revised the Main Scale! For posterity here is how it looked before:

  • 1/10 - Critical Failure (no progress, significant setback)
  • 2/10 - Poor Failure (no progress, minor consequence)
  • 3/10 - Simple Failure (no progress)
  • 4/10 - Setback Failure (no, but... with silver lining)
  • 5/10 - Costly Success (yes, but... with clear drawback.)
  • 6/10 - Weak Success (limited progress)
  • 7/10 - Good Success (limited progress, building momentum)
  • 8/10 - Clear Success (achieves goal)
  • 9/10 - Smooth Success (achieves goal, effortless feel)
  • 10/10 - Critical Success (achieves goal, extra benefit)

And here's the new one:

  • 1/10 - Critical Failure (significant setback)
  • 2/10 - Major Failure (clear consequence)
  • 3/10 - Simple Failure (no progress)
  • 4/10 - Poor Attempt (close, but falls short)
  • 5/10 - Complication (a problem emerges)
  • 6/10 - Minor Success (limited progress)
  • 7/10 - Weak Success (achieves goal, barely)
  • 8/10 - Clear Success (achieves goal)
  • 9/10 - Strong Success (achieves goal cleanly)
  • 10/10 - Critical Success (exceeds expectations)

The previous one had some minor issues that were starting to bother me, you see. Really, the main problem here is that - with less intelligent models especially -  it wasn't direct enough. Take, for example, the results for a 4: I've noticed that by allowing the AI to add a "silver lining" to situations, it basically gave it enough of a wiggle room not to bring the user to what should be a clear-cut failure.

There was a similar issue with the 5, the mixed result: neither a failure nor a success. That's tricky! Having it as "Mixed result" or a "Costly success" was too vague of an instruction.

I've now opted to have it as a failure, but one that should, by forcing in an additional problem, give the user a chance to basically retry an action. It should also make the narrative a little more interesting.

Ok, that's it! Sorry for the long text, bye bye, love ya muah~
